Josephine G. Russell lived in Lawrence and had a family farm in Weare, New Hampshire.  She was the daughter of Josiah G. Dearborn and the sister of Julia A. Baldwin and Cora M. Dearborn.   Either her husband, or one of his relatives, William A. Russell donated land on Prospect Hill for the creation of what is now Lawrence General Hospital.

Her brothers-in-law were William O. Russell and Warren D. Russell and the family were benefactors of the hospital throughout their lifetimes and through their estates.  Josephine was a member of the Ladies Union Charitable Society. 

There is little else known about Josephine. She died on August 19, 1933.
